This week David Kidwell will be discussing the updates on our 2018 Illinois Public Salaries Database which include: base pay, additional pay insights, and 42 new agencies covered.

This accounts for 528,481 state, municipal, school, and other government employees across Illinois, and totals to nearly $460M in new records in the database. The raw data is downloadable for use, too. Our data coordinator and investigative reporter Jared Rutecki does this work in partnership with civic nonprofit Datamade. It’s about half a year’s worth of work in providing the public clean and transparent information on the salaries of public employees in the state.
