Through her decades of public service and civic leadership, The Honorable Valerie Jarrett has been a driving force in advancing civic engagement to strengthen communities and expand opportunity for all. As Senior Advisor to President Barack Obama, she played a central role in shaping policies that advanced equity, supported working families and strengthened access to the middle class. She chaired the White House Council on Women and Girls and championed equality and opportunity for all Americans, including the economic and political empowerment of women in the United States and around the world. Through her leadership, she has mobilized leaders across sectors to address critical challenges, reinforcing the importance of accountable leadership in fostering a more just and engaged society.

In addition, the Luncheon will feature BGA President & CEO David Greising in conversation with William Kristol. Their discussion will draw on Kristol’s work as Editor at Large of The Bulwark and founding director of Defending Democracy Together. He previously served in senior positions in the Reagan and George H.W. Bush administrations and has taught at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University. Their conversation will explore the evolving political landscape, the future of democratic institutions and the role of public discourse in addressing pressing national and civic issues.
