Midwest Climate Summit Think Tank Session

January 1, 1970 @ 12:00 am

The Midwest Climate Summit will host a series of virtual keynotes and workshops to expand climate knowledge, accelerate action and develop a Midwestern response to the climate crisis.

John Chase, the BGA’s director of investigations, will take part in a virtual workshop from 10:45 to noon on Friday, Oct. 9, 2020. Registration is open to interested parties.

If the 12 states that comprise the Midwest were a country, they would be the fifth-largest greenhouse gas emitting nation on the planet–yet the region lags behind the rest of the country in addressing the crisis.

The Midwest Climate Summit, hosted by Washington University St. Louis, is the result of extensive collaboration between over 20 leading Midwest higher education institutions, local governments, non-profits, and private sector organizations seeking to catalyze a climate response.

The Summit begins with an online kick-off Oct. 2 and continues with keynotes and workshops on Oct. 23, Nov. 6 and Nov. 20.
