State government is nearly broke in Illinois, and critical services are at risk because of the financial crunch.
But bureaucrats have found the resources to engage in a lengthy—and potentially costly—legal battle to prevent a physically disabled state employee from getting a handicapped parking space at a government office complex in Springfield, according to an investigation by the Better Government Association and News Channel 20, a Downstate ABC affiliate.
This is the BGA’s second recent investigation Downstate. Based in Chicago, the BGA is recommitting itself to root out government waste, corruption and inefficiency everywhere in Illinois.
